Homegrown style: Bring in the garden for Christmas – Telegraph   Leave a comment

Christmas comes at just the right time of the year. Just when you need cheering up and your mind taken from the snow, the dark, the cuts, and in my case, the inadequacies of conveyancing solicitors, along come all the distractions necessary to get you into a festive mood.
For the past few months, I have been squirrelling away dried seed heads, berries, twigs and flower heads, and every mat hides a cache of drying leaves pressed flat between sheets of newspaper.
So today, on a bleak late afternoon, with the wood-burning stove chugging away, all the lights on in the kitchen looking and smelling like the forest floor, glue gun in hand, I’m making my Christmas decorations.
